How To Make Homemade Mung Bean Flour

INGREDIENTS:

1kg mung bean

MEHOD:
  1. Rinse the mung bean and drain.  Set aside to let it dry.
  2. Preheat oven to 130C.
  3. Spread the mung bean on the baking tray.  Bake at preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes or until turned slightly golden brown.  Every 5 to 10 minutes give the mung bean a stir.
  4. Let it cool completely before blending into powder in a powerful blender.  I used Vitamix Blender.
  5. Use immediately or store in an air tight container.
Note:

You may also stir fry mung beans in a wok over medium low heat for 8 to 10 minutes until the beans turn golden brown and dry.  Stir constantly.

    1. Hi there,

Thank you for your comment and glad that you like my posts.
I am not from Singapore and not sure about this. However, you should be able to get in any Chinese sundry shops.

      Cheers:)

  2. Fabulous alternative in not using the oven - STIR FRY! I heard that oven usage actually reduces or eliminates the precious antioxidants found in the seeds.

  3. If I were to prepare my own mung bean flour at home, do I have to remove the skin of the mung bean?

    1. Hi, I have not tried mung bean with the skin on. The mung bean I used is without skin.
I don't know how to remove the skin. Do you know how to remove the skin?
I think the flour will be darker only if with skin on.

      Cheers :)
