September 03, 2018 | Recipe by Bake with Paws

My first attempt of making Salted Caramel Sauce and it turn out very nice.  This recipe is adapted from Sally’s Baking Addiction.  There are plenty of recipes online.  I found her recipe is easy to follow and understand.

They are perfect for cakes, ice cream, bread and many more.

Recipe - Homemade Salted Caramel

INGREDIENTS:

200g brown sugar / caster sugar
90g butter, cut into cube
130g heavy cream / whipping cream
1 tsp sea salt

METHOD:
  1. In a saucepan, heat the sugar over medium heat. Stirring constantly with the silicon or wooden spatula until melt.
  2. Once the sugar is melted, add in butter and stir until the butter melt. You may change the spatula to whisk if the butter is separating from the caramel.
  3. Slowly pour in the heavy cream and whisk until the cream is well incorporated.  Let it boil for a minute.
  4. Remove from the heat and add 1 tsp of sea salt and stir well.
  5. Let the caramel cool for 10 to 15 minutes before pouring into the jar.  Cover the jar tightly and store in the fridge up to a month.

Note:

Please pay attention and don’t walk away when cooking the caramel to prevent burn.
