I have been seeing this recipe circulate through email for many years and I was just curious to give it a try since my step daughter loves Famous Amos cookies. They actually turned out quite close to the real thing! Super yummy and a hit with everyone.

Makes 110 cookies

1 cup butter (227 g)
2 cups multi-purpose flour (240g)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup granulated sugar (200g), I used 100g
1 cups brown sugar (200g), I used 100g
2 ½ cups blended oatmeal (200g), measure oatmeal and blend in blender to a fine powder
2 cups chocolate chips (350g)
½ tsp. salt
9 oz. Chocolate bar (grated) – I did not used in this recipe
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1 ½ cups chopped nuts (125g), your choice, I used almond flakes.
1 tsp. vanilla

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 C. Line the trays with non-stick baking sheet.
  2.  Cream butter and both sugars together in an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla; mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Add chocolate chips, Cadbury bar and nuts.
  4. Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet. Press the dough lightly with the palm of your hand to flatten just a bit.
  5. Bake for 13 – 15 minutes.
  6. Cool completely before keep in the airtight container. They will get crunchier as they cool.
